As a daily user of business intelligence tools and software, natural language generation capabilities which call out key insights from my data automatically have become an integral part of my workflow.

As seen in the above mockup, this technology accompanies charts and graphs perfectly, calling out relevant and important facts from the data backed by advanced analytics (such as regression, prediction, cyclicity, and cluster analysis). Having these insights reported whenever the view into the data changes means that less time is spent doing that analysis myself. Sharing dashboards that include these narratives quickens data discovery and allows for more focused and guided discussions with my team (similar to the goals set out in this great post).

This technology is quickly becoming a standard in many top tools, with the industry itself seeming more and more eager to adopt it. It would be great to see Microstrategy integrate it into their products.
